Lina has always wanted a bar sign and I had always planned to carve it with my CNC machine, so Lina made the following design in Adobe InDesign:
I imported it into the CNC program and we made a prototype with foam:
Then I tweaked the design a little to get this:
And we cut it out again on some scrap plywood I had lying around before we made the final cuts. Lina burned it a bit just to get an idea of what it would look like before we tweaked it again:
We were happy with the finished product. Then it left my shop so that Lina could burn and finish it:
Once she was finished with the torch, we finished it with some water-based finish I had lying around. It looks great!
