The Cargo Hold

Detailed Information

When we purchased our home in early 1998, the basement bar already existed as some sort of Spanish Cantina home bar. Our kids were very little at the time and the basement became a play area and the bar was left unused. When the kids grew up, the basement morphed into a general storage area filled with old toys, old clothes, and old electronics and computer equipment. In August 2025, our area experienced a storm of epic proportions and the basement flooded (18 inches deep in some areas). After a months long clean-up that caused us to toss much of the detritus that had been gathering over the years, we decided to resurrect the old bar and reimage it as a tiki bar. While the original bar wasn’t made of bamboo, the framework was close enough to give it that Polynesian flair. As it had been a general-purpose storage area for so long, the only name that made sense was to call it… The Cargo Hold.
